Actor Deepika Padukone recently shared the news that the space tech startup Bellatrix Aerospace, for which she is an investor, won the National Startup Award 2020. She became an investor for the startup last year in June.

Padukone took to Twitter to share the news

Padukone took to Twitter to share the news with her fans. She posted a tweet on November 30 which said, “Congratulations to @BellatrixAero on winning the National Award!” She made news last year in June by coming out as an investor for this tech startup. The actor further added, “I am truly humbled & honoured to be able to play a small part in India’s contribution to global space technology & innovation as an investor and well wisher. #JaiHind”.

Bellatrix Aerospace is a Bengaluru-based startup that has been working on path-breaking innovations and technology in space industry, that in addition to being cost-effective it is also eco-friendly. Moreover, they have been working closely with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for developing technology that competes at the global level. Last year, they raised $3 million with the help of their investors.

Not the first time Padukone donned the investor's hat

Padukone’s investments are made through her family’s company KA Enterprises, LLC, which was set up three years ago. She is the co-director of the company alongside her father Prakash Padukone, former Indian badminton player.

This was not the first time that Padukone has stepped into the role of an investor. She has invested in other companies like Drum Foods International Pvt Ltd, who are the makers of the flavoured yoghurt brand Epigamia, online furniture rental platform Furlenco, and Purplle, the beauty products online brand and marketplace. Moreover, she even co-owns a private apparel label All About You with Myntra. More recently, she invested in the learning and community platform FrontRow. Notably, Padukone was in the top 10 list of Forbes top 100 Indian celebs in 2019.
