After reports that Ranveer Singh has requested that he should be allowed to be stay within NCB premises during questioning of Deepika Padukone on account of her anxiety issues, an official from the central agency has denied such a request.
Earlier there were reports that Ranveer Singh had appealed to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to accompany his wife Deepika Padukone during the questioning on Saturday. Padukone has been summoned in the connection with the Bollywood drug-probe which came into light during Sushant Singh Rajput's death case investigation. There were reports that Singh may have wanted to accompany Padukone, because she suffers from anxiety and hence there could be chance of her getting panic attacks during the interrogation. He requested permission to be with her and reportedly asked the agency to allow him inside the office. However after a day long speculation, NCB clarified that Ranveer didn't send such a request.
Padukone is getting ready for the questioning which is set to take place Sept 26th. The couple hurried back to Mumbai from Goa after Padukone was summoned by NCB. She was in Goa filming for her next movie with Siddhant Chaturvedi of Gully Boy fame.
What is the interrogation about?
Padmaavat actress Padukone's name emerged in the Bollywood drug-probe after a WhatsApp chat with her manager Karishma Prakash from 2017 came into light. In the chat, now gone viral, a person denoted as ‘D’, has been allegedly identified to be Deepika Padukone Times Now reported. D reportedly asked for "maal" and "hash" from another persona called ‘K’, reportedly Karishma Prakash, her manager.

According to the sources, Ranveer Singh as stated that "he is a 'law abiding' citizen and knows that he cannot be present at the time of interrogation but is understood to have requested that he be allowed inside the NCB office."
Earlier, Kangana Ranaut targeted Padukone over the use of drugs in Bollywood and she took a dig at her depression awareness campaign. She went on to claim that it is likely a consequence of drug abuse.
The ‘Mastani’ of Bollywood Padukone made headlines when came out in the open about her fight with depression in 2015. Padukone was even honoured by the 26th Annual Crystal Award for raising mental health awareness, last year. She was also named amongst Forbes’ highest-paid film actresses in the world.
“With more than 300 million people suffering with the illness, depression is the leading cause of ill health and disability in the world today,” the actress had said. While Singh's request is still pending, the NCB has sent a summon to actresses Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor respectively, who will also be probed on Saturday. A senior NCB official said, “Currently, no such decision has been taken. Mere WhatsApp chats do not prove criminality and are not grounds enough for issuing summons.” On the other hand, Padukone's manager Prakash and actor Rakul Preet Singh will be interrogated today.
