Oldest Drag Queen Ever Darcelle XV Passes Away At 92

Darcelle XV, the oldest Drag Queen passed away at the age of 92, last Thursday. She has held the Guinness World Record title for the Oldest Drag Queen since 2016.

The Instagram account, Darcelle XV Showplace expressed its condolences. They conveyed to the public that Darcelle's family along with the cast and crew are shattered post the news of her death and expressed the need to grieve in privacy.

Speaking on behalf of Darcelle XV's family the account stated that the date for a public memorial will be declared soon..

Who Is Darcelle XV, The Oldest Drag Queen?

• Walter W Cole, best known by the stage name Darcelle XV won the title of Oldest Drag Queen recorded in the Guinness World Record in 2016.
• Darcelle XV owned the Darcelle XV Showplace. According to Guinness, it is the oldest drag show on the West Coast.
• Darcelle XV Showplace declared that as per Darcelle's wishes no upcoming shows will be cancelled and cabaret events will take place as scheduled. They requested the public on the post to join the club in celebrating the Drag Queen's legacy and thanked them for their support in advance.
• Born in 1930, Darcelle XV was raised in Portland's Linnton area. Cole served in the United States Armed Forces before being discharged post-mid-1950s. Darcelle's official website states that Darcelle used the money earned while serving to start her business.
• Cole was a playwright, costume designer, author, actor, headliner, and owner of the Darcelle XV Showplace. Darcelle XV Showplace recently celebrated its 54th anniversary as the longest-running cabaret in the US.
• Cole authored the autobiography titled 'Just Call Me Darcelle'. Darcelle celebrated her 90th birthday in November 2020.
• The Darcelle XV Showplace plays six shows every week at their club. Darcelle was always in demand for public appearances on fundraisers, television, parades, and special events.
