Masterson has been accused of rape, assault and stalking by multiple women, with allegations surfacing first in 2017. On complaints made by four women, Los Angeles police had begun investigations in the case, leading to more women coming forward with similar claims.

In June 2020, the actor was charged with the rape of three women between 2001 and 2003. The 45-year-old has denied all allegations and pleaded not guilty. If convicted, he will face prison time of 45 years.

A Look At The Danny Masterson Case And May 2021 Trial

The woman who testified against Masterson said in court they knew each other through the Church of Scientology during the late 1990s and early 2000s, as per Associated Press

The Church, based largely in California, is known for propagating a controversial religious movement shrouded in secrecy and believed in by several Hollywood celebrities. Some other women accusing Masterson have also alleged the Church assisted in their harassment.

The survivor told the LA court she was at Masterson's house on April 25, 2003, to pick up a set of keys. After taking a drink of vodka, she claims to have felt "blurry" and soon without any strength to "walk or stand". She alleges Masterson took her into the shower and between phases of faintness, she found him "soaping her bare breasts," as per AP.

She says the actor later took her to his bed and raped her, even threatened her with a gun.

Masterson, represented by his attorney Thomas Mesereau, has pleaded not guilty. The trial is reportedly expected to last four days.
