Late journalist Danish Siddiqui's children Yunus Siddiqui, 6, and Sarah Siddiqui, 4, accepted their father's Pulitzer Prize in New York on Friday, 21 October.
Siddiqui, who is associated with Reuters, won the Pulitzer award in the category of feature photography along with Adnan Abidi, Amit Dave, Danish Siddiqui and Sanna Irshad Mattoo for their "images of COVID’s toll in India."

Siddiqui, 38, was on assignment in Afghanistan last year when he died. The award-winning journalist was killed in July last year while covering clashes between Afghan troops and the Taliban in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar city. His kids took the prize on their father's behalf.
This is Siddiqui's second win at the Pulitzer Prize. He was honoured with the prestigious award in 2018 as part of the Reuters team for their coverage of the Rohingya crisis.
Siddiqui has extensively covered the Afghanistan conflict, the Hong Kong protests and other major events in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe before.
A degree in Economics from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, the journalist also has a degree in Mass Communication from the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre at Jamia in 2007.
He started his career as a television news correspondent, switched to photojournalism, and joined Reuters as an intern in 2010.
Meanwhile, the Indian government prevented Sanna from travelling to New York and couldn't accept her Pulitzer Prize.
Earlier this year, she was stopped from travelling to France, where she was to attend a book launch and photography exhibition.
Mattoo took to social media and shared that she was on her stopped on her way to receive the award in New York. She wrote, “I was stopped at immigration at Delhi airport and barred from travelling internationally despite holding a valid US visa and ticket”.
