Dalit Girl Beaten Up and Molested in Amethi: A 16-year-old Dalit girl was beaten up and molested in Amethi on December 28, 2022.

The video of the incident went viral on social media, post which an FIR was lodged against three people today.

A Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act case was registered against the three accused namely Suraj Soni, Shivam and Sakal according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Arpit Kapoor.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police said that a search has been launched to nab the three accused. 

The girl is a resident of the village under Sangrampur police station which is under the area of Amethi district whereas the incident took place in Raipur Phulwari town.

A Dalit minor girl was allegedly raped and then cremated without the consent of her parents on August 1, 2021. The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) had informed the Court that the parents of the child are poor rag pickers, who earn less than Rs 8,000 in a month. The commission said that the family is facing a loss of income after the girl’s death and frequent visits for police investigations.

A Dalit girl was allegedly raped and murdered by her landlord’s brother-in-law in Gurugram, Haryana, as per reports on July 17, 2021. 

A 16-year-old Dalit girl died by suicide on July 26, 2021, after being subjected to harassment by some boys of her village in Tikamgarh district, Madhya Pradesh.
