Daisy Ridley Speaks About Questioning Herself After A Director Called Her Aggressive

Actor Daisy Ridley opened up how she questioned her enthusiastic approach after a director told her that her energy is “quite aggressive”.

During an interview with a magazine, Ridley talked being troubled by other’s perception of her after being described as “intimidating” on the sets of Chaos Walking. She said that a director called her energy aggressive during a meeting.

This incident had a greater impact on Ridley as it pushed her to find blame herself. She wondered if she was too passionate about the subject she was talking about to the director if it was wrong to make eye contact. “You have that horrible sinking feeling of, God, do I not come across the way I think I do?” she added.

She recalled thinking about changing her appearance while sitting in front of the mirror. "‘God, should I be smaller? Should I be quieter?’”

Ridley shot to fame after she was starred in The Force Awakens, a sequel to popular science fiction series Star Wars. She essayed the role of Rey in the movie.

The actor called her stint as Rey a “magical piece of luck” but she also said that the public had too much access to her private life after that. “When I signed on to Star Wars, there was nothing in my contract that said: ‘Your life will be talked about’,” she said. She also talked about it was hard to hide her romantic relationships from the public eye as she realized that so much of her life was out there.
