  1. People below the age of 18 are not supposed to take the vaccine according to the notification issued by the Union Health Ministry.
  2. If a person has symptoms or has been tested positive for COVID-19, they must take the shot only 4-8 weeks after recovery.
  3. People suffering from any other acute disease or are hospitalised must take a vaccine 4-8 weeks after complete recovery.
  4. Since no vaccine trials have been attempted on women who are pregnant, lactating, or expecting pregnancy, these women should not take any COVID-19 vaccination.
  5. If you have any history of allergies to vaccines or injectable therapies, you must refrain from taking the shot.
  6. Those who have already received another COVID-19 vaccine should not be given a Covaxin shot.
  7. People who have a fever or bleeding disorder must not take the vaccination. Also, if you are allergic to any ingredients of the vaccination you should not take that vaccine shot.
  8. Persons with weaker immunity or who are on a medicine that affects their immune system must not take the Covaxin shot.
  9. If you have any immediate or delayed allergic reaction to a previous dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, maybe during trials should not receive the vaccine.
  10. When administering the Covishield vaccine, if the person has a condition of thrombocytopenia (Abnormally low platelets), the shot has to be given with caution.

The guidelines do not prohibit people with any history of chronic disease and morbidities concerning cardiac, neurological, metabolic, pulmonary, or renal from getting the vaccination. In addition to these, if you are HIV positive too, you can take the shot. Even people with a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection can also get the vaccination done.
