Due to the lockdowns around the nation, the daily wage workers are the worst hit. In the face of this COVID-19 scare tennis player, Sania Mirza ​is working on raising money for the daily wage workers. This money will be used to provide food and other basic necessities to the affected ground workers whose lives depend on ​daily wages, TOI reported.

Sharing a video on her social networks supporting the cause, with Safa organisation, Sania, who made her comeback on the circuit earlier this year, wrote: "In this difficult time that the world is going through, we are privileged to be able to sit at home, in comfort and wait for everything to be ok again... there are thousands of people who aren't that lucky enough and it's our responsibility to take care of them in whatever capacity we can.”

"Together with Safa and a few other people we hope to help as many families as possible in this difficult time and make a little bit of a difference," she added pledging to donate to the organisation. She has urged people to make a contribution to the workers during this tough time.

Earlier, Sania assured her fans that she has no symptoms yet. “Thankfully both I and my father don’t have any symptoms and we’re feeling healthy,” she told ESPN India.

“We made sure we didn’t step out of our homes both in San Diego and here in Hyderabad. Izhaan is just excited to have me back and with him around, self-isolation doesn’t look like an easy option,” she claimed.

Further, Sania said to ABP, "As you know the coronavirus is spreading fast, it originated in China and as per the UN, it has spread around the world, we need to take precautions, there are few symptoms like coughing and fever, if you feel you have the symptoms, you should immediately consult a doctor."
