Technology and its gigantic spread is facilitating different departments in their functioning. This time, it was the police department that made use of technology to reunite a 7-year old girl with her family.
The girl had gone missing from a wedding in Delhi. But Google Maps helped the police locate her village and hand over the girl back to her family. The satellite images that the Maps displayed along with the child's description about her village made the reunion possible.
It all started when a police constable, Vikram, found the girl who had lost her way after coming out of the wedding venue. He then took her to the Malviya Nagar police station and handed her over to the cops.
