- A 26-year-old woman accused a police constable in Pilibhit, UP and his elder brother, also a police officer posted in Shamli, UP, of keeping her confined and gang-raping her for days.
- The brothers, named Imran Mirza and Furqan not only allegedly raped her multiple times but also allegedly forced her to abort twice when she conceived.
- The woman reportedly met Imran Mirza in March 2021 on Facebook. The two got into a relationship and Imran promised to marry her.
- The two got into a physical relationship on the pretext of marriage and would often meet in different hotels where he raped her.
- Later, he moved her to a rented flat in Shamli where his brother Furqan raped her. In her complaint, she claimed Imran forced her to abort her pregnancy two times during that time.
- When the woman tried to confront the brothers regarding their behaviour towards her, they allegedly physically assaulted her and threatened to kill her if she filed a case.
- She was scared and remained quiet for two years. She allegedly confronted them again and on being beaten up brutally by their hands, she decided to take legal action.
- She filed a rape case against the brothers and they are reportedly threatening her to withdraw the case.
- Meanwhile, Pilibhit's Superintendent of Police said that they will be taking necessary actions against the police officers if they are found guilty of the charges.
- Pilibhit's Superintendent of Police also said that Imran was on leave from the past few days. He was supposed to rejoin work on May 3 but he did not. The police are currently investigating the case.
