MLA On Horse: Who Is Amba Prasad?
Amba Prasad is a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of the Indian National Congress (INC) from Barkagaon, Jharkhand. She assumed position in 2019, thereby becoming the youngest legislator in the state legislative assembly in 2019. She was notably one of ten women MLAs, a first-time number in the Jharkhand assembly.
Both her parents have been involved in state politics. Her father Yogendra Prasad was a Barkagaon leader in 2009 and later took a seat in Hemant Soren's government too. His links to Maoist forces compelled him to resign in 2014. Prasad's mother Nirmal Devi has also reportedly been charged with several criminal cases.
