Three sisters, who are identical triplets, in South Kivu, an eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo reportedly shared everything since their childhood. When they all liked the same man, they decided to share a husband as well.
In the eastern part of Congo, people are legally allowed to marry more than one person. The triplets did not have any legal trouble when it came to marrying Luwizo. He is a polygamous man and had his heart set on Natalie. But when the other two sisters, Natasha and Nadege also proposed him simultaneously, he felt "obliged" to marry them as well.
One of the three sisters while talking to a local newspaper said that when they told Luwizo that he will have to marry all three of them, he seemed shocked. "But because he had already fallen in love with all of us, nothing could stop our plans since we were also in love with him."

The wedding ceremony was attended by the close friends and family members of the sisters and the groom. However, the groom's parents did not attend the wedding. He told the local newspaper that his parents "don't understand" what he is doing.
He was quoted by the Mirror saying, "I was obliged to marry all of them because they are triplets. It wasn't an easy decision because until now, my parents don't understand what I'm doing," the groom was quoted as saying by Mirror.

He added, "You have to lose something in order to gain another. In addition, one has their preferences and their own way of doing things. So I'm happy to marry the triplets no matter what others think. My parents despised my decision that's why they didn't attend my wedding. But all I can say is love has no limits."
The sisters told the media that have always shared everything since childhood and sharing a husband was not difficult for them. One of the sisters, unclear which one, said, "Even though people considered it impossible for three women to share one husband, to us, sharing everything has been our life since childhood."
Apart from the Democratic Republic of Congo, polygamy is legal in several other countries such as Egypt, Algeria, Cameroon. The custom of marrying more than one person is not just legal but recognised as a societal practice in these countries. Muslims and other religious communities in India also engage in polygamous marriages such Buddhists, Jains. In 2014, a report showed that people who follow Hindu religion contributed to a higher incidence rate of polygamy at 5.8 per cent.
