Condoms To Justice Ganediwala: Devshri Trivedi, a self-confessed political analyst from Ahmedabad, has uploaded a couple of videos on YouTube claiming that she has mailed contraceptives to Ganediwala's official residence and Nagpur's High Court registry in protest of her controversial judgments. The woman from Gujarat is said to have sent condoms packages on February 13.

In the video, Trivedi reportedly shows how she packed about 150 condoms in 12 packets and was all set to courier them to various addresses. She also claimed to have sent some packets to HC’s principal bench at Mumbai. Her videos grabbed immediate attention.

Who is Pushpa Ganediwala?

For the uninitiated, Pushpa Ganediwala is the Judge behind controversial POCSO verdicts. She passed controversial rulings in January related to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act that eventually led to public outrage.

"I cannot tolerate injustice. A minor girl did not get justice because of a judgment by Justice Ganediwala. I am demanding that she (Justice Ganediwala) be suspended," Trivedi was quoted as saying as a mark of protest, India Today reported.

Recently, Ganediwala’s tenure was extended by a period of one year. The judge of the Nagpur bench of the Bombay HC delivered back-to-back controversial judgments under POCSO Act for crimes against children. She ruled that groping over the clothes without actual “skin to skin contact”  does not amount to sexual assault or holding the hand of a minor and opening pants zip is not sexual assault as per the POCSO Act. The SC then withdrew its consent to make her a permanent judge at the end of January, following outrage on social media. Read about Justice Pushpa Ganediwala

After Trivedi's alleged act, the registry office of the Nagpur bench told India Today that they have not received any packet yet. Claiming that it is is a clear case of contempt, Senior advocate of the Nagpur Bar Association, Shrirang Bhandarkar, said, "We demand that action should be taken against this woman."

Devshri Trivedi defends her action

Following a group of lawyers practising at the Nagpur bench expressed outrage, Trivedi told TOI, “Condoms are a mark of symbol on the judge’s skin-to-skin verdict where she let off a man accused of groping the breasts of a 12-year-old girl without removing her clothes. She ruled that as there’s no skin contact, his act doesn't come under the purview of sexual assault. I found it bizarre and can understand the pain of the girl and her family."

She also declared to start a campaign against Ganediwala for her controversial judgment.
