Viral Video Alleges Chinmayanand Getting Massage From Law Student

A video has surfaced on social media allegedly showing BJP leader Chinmayanand getting a massage from a girl reported to be the survivor who filed a complaint against him. The video shows Chinmayanand getting completely naked while the girl continues to massage him. Reports say that the video has been taken from a hidden camera connected to the girl’s spectacles.

The family had submitted the video to the Special Investigation Team probing the case after the Law student accused Chinmayanand of raping her for a year. While the SIT hasn’t yet reached the conclusion of whether the video is fake or real, thus there is apprehension around if it will be considered as evidence.

Chinmayanand’s lawyer Om Singh had dismissed the fact that such a video even existed but now that it has been leaked, he is questioning its authenticity and claims that this is another attempt to malign Chinmayanand’s image and that only a forensic report can tell if it is fake or real. He further claimed that he has videos of the girl and her friends plotting to defame Chinmayanand.

The team spent close to six hours searching the room for evidence that the girl claimed in her conversation with the media that she had kept safe in the same hostel room.

The team locked and sealed the room after it was done searching it.

The girl, who studied at SS Law College in Shahjahanpur which is under the management of Chinmayanand, also alleged that the Shahjahanpur police did not register her complaint and that the District Magistrate also threatened her father when he approached him to lodge the complaint.

“On Sunday, the SIT quizzed me for about 11 hours. I have told them about the rape. Even after telling them everything, they have not arrested Chinmayanand yet,” she had said.

The girl went missing on August 24 right after publishing the video on Facebook. She was found a week later in Rajasthan. The SC bench comprising of Justice R Banumathi and AS Bopanna directed the Delhi Police to not let anybody meet the girl until the bench does.

Chinmayanand has filed a cross-complaint against the girl for maligning his image and has called the allegations against him fake and a conspiracy against him. The former minister isn’t new to criminal cases, as in November 2011 he was charged with rape after a girl who had lived at his Ashram for several years accused him. However, the Yogi Adityanath government in March this year had filed a plea to withdraw the case. But in May, a local court rejected it.
