A device developed by a university in Chanzhou, China, has generated buzz on Chinese social media. The goal of the "kissing device" is to enable long-distance couples to virtually share intimate moments.
According to the China-based Global Times, the device with "silicon lips" has pressure sensors and actuators and can simulate a real kiss. According to the report, the device can also simulate the pressure, movement, and temperature of a user's lips. Users must download an app for their phone and connect the device to the phone's charging port.

Various responses to this device were widely shared on social media. Some users found it amusing, while others described it as "vulgar and creepy," raising the possibility that children might purchase and use it.

The device has a module in the shape of a mouth that can be used to induce kissing between lovers and then transfer the kissing gesture and force to the "mouth" on the other side. Through an app and Bluetooth, the device connects to the phone. The phone only needs to be plugged into the gadget to function. The remote kissing device enables people with oral diseases to kiss as well as lovers or couples who live apart to feel their partners' kisses.

According to CNN, the Imagineering Institute in Malaysia introduced a comparable product called Kissinger in 2016 in the form of a touch-sensitive silicon pad. Users of the device can pair up with strangers and kiss, according to the Global Times report. The app allows users to upload their kisses for others to download. Priced at 288 yuan (Rs 3,433), the item.
