Children In COVID-19 Third Wave: The Union Health Ministry on June 30, released a statement that dismissed fears regarding children being more vulnerable to the subsequent waves of COVID-19. "Experts have allayed these fears and apprehensions on several platforms," the official statement read.
The Union Health Ministry released a detailed guideline on dealing with COVID-19 in children below the age of 18 years, titled 'COVID19: Myths vs Facts' on Wednesday.
While several questions have been raised, inquiring if the chances of children being vulnerable to, the coming waves of the COVID-19 are more, experts allayed these fears and apprehensions on several platforms.

"During the Covid-19 second wave in the country," officials said in a statement, "several questions have been raised in the media regarding the higher vulnerability of children to get adversely impacted by Covid-19 during the subsequent waves if any."

COVID -19 in children is often asymptomatic and seldom requires hospitalisation, stated the NITI Ayog member Vinod Kumar Paul, also a paediatrician and physician-scientist.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences director Dr Sandeep Guleria stated that healthy children recovered from COVID-19 without the need for hospitalisation as compared to children with low immunity and comorbidities.
Moreover, there is neither global nor national data that shows that children will be seriously infected in the subsequent Covid-19 waves, officials informed in the said statement.
