Chennai Student Suicide Note: A class 11 student died by suicide last week at her home in Mangadu, Chennai. The deceased in her suicide note alleged sexual harassment and stalking as the reason for the extreme step. A 21-year-old college student has been reportedly arrested on December 20, the police are investigating further on the case.

The minor was found hanging in her room by her mother. Her suicide note was found on December 18, Saturday. The deceased had reportedly titled it "Stop Sexual Harassment." In the note, she wrote the mental trauma that she went through due to sexual harassment. She also appealed to the parents to teach their sons how to be respectful towards girls in society.

According to the NDTV report, the mother found the deceased after returning from the market on December 18. The deceased was allegedly harassed and stalked for eight months.

"...The only safe place is a mother's womb and the cemetery," the note read. She also stated that neither the school nor the relative's place is safe. The family members of the deceased alleged that she was sexually harassed in her previous school and nothing changed even after the deceased changed schools.

"The boy has confessed to a physical relationship with the minor girl. In the last two weeks, he had been harassing and torturing her. We have located filthy messages and the exchange of photographs. They had a good friendly relation for eight months before all this," the police said. They have charged the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to the police, three years ago, the girl was in Class 8 and the accused in class 11. Then she moved school but the two later became friends on Instagram. Based on the deceased's letter, the police are investigating if there were more people involved.

The police have formed four special teams to investigate. They have started questioning people with whom the deceased spoke regularly as per her phone call records.

The police said that the deceased had started keeping a distance. However, the deceased girl's letter read that she was in pain but nobody allegedly consoled her. The other reasons for the death given by the deceased include unable to concentrate on studies and constant nightmares.
