Charu Sinha to head four CRPF sectors

Charu Sinha has become the first woman officer to serve as the inspector general (IG) of four sectors of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) with her transfer to the paramilitary force’s southern sector in Hyderabad on Tuesday, reports Hindustan Times.

In September 2020, Sinha also became the first woman officer to be posted as the Srinagar sector CRPF IG.

1996 batch IPS Charu Sinha became the first Inspector General of CRPF in Kashmir in September 2020. She had earlier headed the anti-Naxal operations in Bihar before being given the responsibility of maintaining the peace and safety of people in the Valley for a period of two and a half years.

Gurugram woman on why she self-isolated for three years 

Munmun Majhi, 33, locked herself and her son at their Gurugram home for three years because she was terrified that the 10-year-old would "die of Covid as soon if he stepped out", a police officer said after the two were rescued yesterday and hospitalised for a thorough check-up.

The woman had been living in confinement since India imposed lockdown and has kept herself and her son away from the outside world. The police, along with health department and child welfare officials, rescued the woman and her son by breaking the apartment door.

Telangana medical student attempts suicide after "harassment" by senior

A first-year postgraduate student of a medical college allegedly attempted suicide at a state-run hospital in the Warangal district of Telangana on Wednesday reportedly after being harassed by one of her seniors, a male doctor, police said. The woman, who was on duty at the hospital, was found unconscious by the staff and doctors.

The student's father lodged a complaint with the police accusing a senior student of harassing his daughter and a case was registered.
