Telugu TV actress Sravani Kondapalli was found hanging at her home in Madhura Nagar, Hyderabad on Tuesday, September 8th. Her family members discovered her body and have alleged that her 'boyfriend', Devraj Reddy, is the reason behind her demise.
Preliminary reports suggest that the actress was found hanging from the ceiling of her washroom. She had retired to her room after a conversation with her mother. Thereafter, Sravani locked herself in and didn’t step out for some hours. Later, her mother discovered her hanging body when she peeped through the window, upon getting suspicious. Consequently, the police moved her body to Osmania hospital for a post-mortem.
The Alleged Reason
According to agency reports, an inspector who reviewed the incident noted that the police didn't discover any suicide note on the spot. However, her family has alleged that Sravani died by suicide because of the harassment she suffered at the hands of a person called Devraj Reddy. He hails from Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. Reports suggest that she had a close relationship with Devraj over the past eight months. However, as per her family, she cut contact with him a few weeks back. Thereafter, they went on to comment that after starting to meet him again, Sravani had fallen into depression.
The police registered a case under section 306 (Abetment of suicide) of IPC, at SR Nagar police station, at the family's behest. Police investigation regarding the matter is still on.
