Central Bureau of Investigation has accused Indian media of "speculative" reporting, saying that most reports around its probe into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput are not "based of facts".
A statement released by CBI on Thursday read that the agency is conducting an investigation in a “systematic and professional way” and that the information in the case is not at all similar to what media has been reporting.
"Certain media reports attributed to CBI investigation are speculative and not based on facts," the statement read. The investigation bureau further noted that various media reports regarding agency probe are not “credible” or “based on facts", adding that media houses are “speculative” in nature as they are sharing the false information regarding the ongoing investigation, Hindustan Times reported.

“It is requested that the media may please confirm details from a CBI spokesperson before quoting CBI,” said CBI spokesperson R K Gaur.
Clarifying the fact that what media is showing, in relation with Rajput's case has not been shared by the CBI spokesperson or any team member, he further added, “It is reiterated that as a matter of policy, CBI does not share details of ongoing investigation. CBI spokesperson or any team member has not shared any details of the investigation with the media."
"The details being reported and attributed to CBI are not credible," Gaur further noted.
Meanwhile, on Friday morning, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) department raided Sushant Singh Rajput's ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty’s house, a report by Economic Times said. In another development, Rhea's brother Showik Chakraborty has been detained by the CBI. He has been taken to the NCB office for questioning, Times Now reported.

CBI has also interrogated Rhea Chakraborty along with her father Indrajit, Rajput's former manager Shruti Modi, flatmate Siddharth Pithani, staff member Dipesh Sawant and others, TOI reported.
