A division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice G S Kulkarni mentioned that the petitioner, the advocate Puneet Dhanda, had no locus standi (capacity) to file such a plea.
The court also said,""Who are you? If there is any foul play in the death of this person Disha Salian, then her family can take appropriate steps as per law."
In his petition, the Delhi-based advocate mentioned that the death case of Disha Salian should be transferred to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and also, should be monitored by the high court.
The court further added,"There is nothing on record to show that the petitioner has approached the police. The petitioner has, in fact, directly approached the Supreme Court."

The apex court had refused to hear the same plea, last month. They had directed Puneet Dhandha to approach the high court first, after which Puneet did file a petition in the Bombay High Court.
Vineet Dhanda had argued that there were several media reports insinuating that Disha Salian was murdered, however, the police had closed the case without carrying out a proper investigation.
Vineet Dhanda had argued," On June 8, Salian was found dead in mysterious circumstances and just a few days later, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, with whom Salian worked in the past, was also found dead at his residence under mysterious circumstances."
However, the bench said the petitioner should approach the police if he has any information.
