Case Against Milind Soman for posting Nude picture of himself on Social Media

A case has been registered against actor Milind Soman for sharing an 'obscene' image on his social media. Milind Soman recently shared a picture of himself running naked on a beach. This comes on the heels of a big uproar on social media questioning why Soman's naked pictures were okay on social media but Poonam Pandey, doing something similar was not? Controversial actress Poonam Pandey was arrested and later released on bail for shooting an 'obscene video' in Goa in which she is seen wearing a provocative swimsuit.

The Poonam Pandey Case

Actress Poonam Pandey was arrested on 5 November by the Goa Police for shooting an 'obscene video' at the Chakoli dam site in Canacona. The arrest came just a few days after pictures of her provocative photoshoot appeared on social media. The FIR was filed by the local opposition party, ‘Goa Forward’ that alleged that she had participated in a ‘porn photoshoot’ on the Goa government’s Water Resources Department, according to DNA.

SheThePeople's Tanvi Akauri wrote, "Not even a full day after the internet was swooning over actor-model Milind Soman’s nude beach run photo, was Pandey arrested for “obscenity”. The irony of the situation was glaring."

Milind Soman's controversial post

On November 4, Soman shared a picture of himself running nude on a beach to mark his 55th birthday. The picture went viral within hours of being put up. While Soman was criticised for posting the picture on social media, many complimented him for looking so fit in his fifties. This, however, isn't the first time Soman has courted controversy for posing nude in a photograph. Back in 1995, he posed sans clothes with model Madhu Sapre, along with a snake.
