The Billboard Music Award is an honour given out annually by Billboard which is a publication and music popularity chart covering the music business. Moreover, she also received Gold Hip Hop Bravo Otto Award in 2018. The Bravo Otto Award is an annual award being presented since 1957 and winners are selected by the readers of the Bravo Magazine.

She won this by moving ahead and beating the albums by late Mac Miller,late Nipsey Hussle,Pusha T and Scott. Cardi is also the fifth woman ever nominated in the award category created since 1995.

This year's award ceremony has two fan voted categories too. These are —Top Social Artist and The Chart Achiever. The award ceremony will be hosted by the American singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson in Las Vegas on May 1. She will be returning as host of the ceremony. Last year, in 2018, she had also emceed the Billboard Music Awards- Edition 2018. The event continued for three hours and was aired on NBC . The 2019 edition will be taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
