In an odd, yet fun racing competition 'Wife Carrying Contest' in Canada, husbands are supposed to carry their wives on their backs crossing all the obstacles of the contest to win the race. The contest took place during the famous Scandinavian Midsummer Festival. The racing competition was similar to what we saw in the 2015 Bollywood film Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
The genesis of the race is stated to be from Finland tradition where the contestants race for 254 meters navigating through two hurdles, a water jump, and a high jump navigating throughout carrying a partner on their back. The rules of the contest state that the participants must be over the age of 18 and wives must weigh more than 100lbs (45kg). The winning contestants get the price of beer weighing as much as the weight of the wife.

BBC took to their Instagram to share the video of the fun race from the Scandinavian Midsummer Festival held in the Coquitlam City of Canada. According to reports, the competition was won by Eric Blaida and Anna Stonkevich of Coquitlam City, procuring the prize of four cases of Carlsberg pilsner. While this might be bizarre for others, Bollywood fans are totally aware of such a concept. That is what the comment section of the video looked like. The Bollywood fans wrote that the race reminded them of the 2015 Bollywood film Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
While some fans commented under the video, "This is Bollywood movie #Dumlagakehaisha?" another user joked "If he drops me I am divorcing asap."
