100 Women Faces inspiring us through their work and brilliance

If we put the work done by women in the forefront it will inspire others to go out there and achieve their goals. That's the focus of the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs which launched 100 Faces in partnership with SheThePeople.TV and other associates.

“We did not make it into an award function as we did not just want to bring up women of substance but also mentor them and help them in their challenges as that’s what women need,” said Tripti Somani, Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs Delhi head about 100 women faces. It is a campaign that COWE’s Wommenovator is carrying out to focus on the inspiring work women are doing.

These stories will make part of an online and print publication and Management planner which COWE will send to ministries, PSUs, corporate, financial institution, banks and embassies of all countries in India to endorse women’s work and spread awareness about them.

A jury of judges like Babul Supriyo, Avijit Dutt, Naina Lal Kidwai, Paresh Rawal, Suresh Raina, Shereen Bhan, Blossom Kochhar, Arunachalam Muruganantham and Sonam Wangchu will select the 100 women achievers.

Founder of SheThePeople.TV, Shaili Chopra said," It's important for us to showcase the tremendous work done by women and explore new ways of sharing their challenges, struggles and successes. COWE's latest effort celebrates women from all walks of life."

Somani added, “I thought it is very difficult for women who are doing their bit with lots of responsibility on their head to network with more people and seek support for their work. If this changes then lots of people can reach out to them and accelerate them internationally and domestically. Then I wondered if I have that potential to bring up partners who have the reach, market strategies, financial accountancy etc. then why not create a pool of 100 women of substance and help them in their progress?” Somani runs an accounting firm aside of her COWE responsibility.

It is very difficult for women who are doing their bit with lots of responsibility on their head to network with more people and seek support for their work. If this changes then lots of people can reach out to them and accelerate them internationally and domestically.

The jury chose women from all sectors like agriculture, social entrepreneurship, art, business make the 100 Women Faces. The names will be released in April.

Kidwai who is one of the jury members praised the initiative and said, “We need to laud women achievers. We also need many more such efforts selecting women to showcase their work and indeed inspire others.”

Mentor Meeta Sengupta said, “As an educationalist, I meet a lot of women who are inspiring, create future. They are also mentors and build entire ecosystems and this is what brings us to women innovators. This is where we are seeking 100 faces that are able to build the future and mentorship circles.”
