Camila Cabello took to Instagram to write an affectionate post about her relationship with Shawn Mendes. The 23-year-old former Fifth Harmony singer explained how their relationship is not as perfect as the Instagram pictures and claimed that "it's not just happy blissful moments."
Sharing a candid picture with Mendes, the Havana singer added a little note which went on to read, “I’ve learned a lot about love with this guy. It’s not just the happy blissful moments you see in pictures and videos - When you’re in a relationship with someone, it feels like they are this mirror reflecting yourself back to you”

'It’s messy and uncomfortable and ugly'
She continued, "It’s not as simple as it looks in pictures sometimes. sometimes, it’s messy and uncomfortable and ugly lol. But there’s nothing like the pull, the FORCE that is love, to be the light in the darkness- to be the gravitational pull that gives you the relentless strength to be braver, wiser, and better than you were yesterday. It’s so instinctive for us to love, even if our minds try to protect us from it sometimes, but our nature as humans is to love. And to be in love means to choose that person over and over again, to go through the messy stuff with."
Last year, in an interview with Variety, Cabello talked about what falling in love feels like. “Falling in love is like an infinite amount of levels and layers and angles. I fell in love and just opened up. Everything was written in present moment."
On a closing note, she shared, “I’m all for being vulnerable on social media because I think only the neatness and perfection of life is shown on here; and that can make us all feel extra lonely and weird! So raise your glass to the messiness and weirdness of being human and the miracle. And the easiness. And the instinct. And the relentless force that is love.”
On the work front, Mendes is prepping for the release of his new album titled Wonder, which is coming out on December 4. On the release of his single also titled Wonder, which came out on October 2, Mendes credited Cabello and said that she influenced his newest British GQ record. “You have a choice to either open up and be very vulnerable or to be locked down and not show her anything,” he said after the outlet crowned him their Solo Artist of the Year.
.@ShawnMendes' Wonder is a record that manages the impossible feat of being both more emotionally honest and more extravagantly sexy than any he’s put out before. #GQAwards @HUGOBOSS #BOSSxGQAwards #GQAwardsAtHome #BOSSBOTTLED #SuitedByBoss https://t.co/YoC9xSTJXc
