A minor Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in the Pahasu police station area of Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. The incident came to light after the survivor’s father filed a complaint with the police. He claimed that his daughter had been abducted by a youth. The incident happened on March 26.
Reportedly, the survivor in her statement told the magistrate that the young man lured her and raped her along with two of his accomplices. The minor’s medical reports also suggested that she was sexually assaulted.
The police, based on the reports and statements of the survivor, have registered a case and booked the three accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

A major publication quoted in-charge SSP Surendra Tiwari saying that the police filed a complaint on the basis of the survivor’s statement and her medical reports. He also said that one of the accused has been arrested while they are on the lookout for the other two. The investigation is underway, he added.

Girl Abducted and Gang-Raped In Bihar
According to a report in local news, a similar happened in Bihar recently. Five men allegedly gang-raped a minor after abducting her. The report stated that nearly four-five youth abducted a minor from her village and gang-raped her. They later filmed her and threatened that they will upload the video on the internet if she complains.
The survivor’s parents filed a complaint after the minor reported the incident to them. In their statement to the police, the parents mentioned that the minor girl was missing since March 19. The parents realised she was abducted while looking for her and approached the police who allegedly refused to file a complaint.
The minor was then released by the accused on March 22 and the complaint of rape was filed two days later. Reportedly, a person named Jagdish Thakur and his friends were booked by police. The police said that investigations are underway.
Caste Based Sexual Violence
The 2019 data from National Crime Records Bureau showed that 10 Dalit women were raped every day in India. Meanwhile, another report stated that over 100 million young Dalit women are subjected to sexual violence at the hands of the so-called Upper Caste men. According to NCRB, 3,846 Dalit women were raped in 2019.
