Budaun woman forced to drink acid by her neighbour for resisting sexual assault: In Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun district, a 30-year-old woman from Sikri Village was reportedly forced to drink acid and stabbed with a knife in the abdomen after she denied her neighbour's sexual advances. The accused, identified as a man named Satendra, has been arrested by the police.
According to a News 18 report, the woman lives with her three kids in Sikri, while her husband works in Delhi. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused forcibly entered the woman's house late on Monday night and allegedly started molesting her. When she tried to resist his advances the accused reportedly forced her to drink acid, and later attacked her with a knife in the abdomen when the women cried for help.
According to the locals, who came to the woman's aid after hearing her cries for help, the police only began investigating the case after started a video of the injured woman went viral.
The police registered a case of attempt to murder against Satendra and arrested him. Meanwhile, the woman was admitted to the district hospital by police, but she was later referred to the Higher Centre, Bareilly.
In a similar incident from Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, A 38-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man who was her neighbour. An FIR was registered against the alleged rapist by the woman.
