BS Yediyurappa's Granddaughter Soundarya Found Dead: Here’s What We Know So Far

Former Karnataka CM Yediyurappa granddaughter Soundarya was found hanging in her Bengaluru apartment on Friday, January 28. Soundarya has a four-month-old baby and was reportedly suffering from post-pregnancy depression according to reports. The 30-year-old was a practising doctor.

Former Karnataka CM and BJP leader BS Yediyurappa granddaughter Soundarya is suspected to have died by suicide on Friday, January 28, at her Bengaluru apartment. The 30-year-old doctor was suffering from post-pregnancy depression as per reports. She married her husband two years ago and has a four-month-old baby. Soundarya Neeraj was the daughter of Former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa’s older daughter Padma.

Here’s what we know about the death of Yediyurappa’s granddaughter Soundarya:

1. 30-year-old Soundarya was found dead in her Bengaluru apartment on Friday, January 28.
2. It is suspected that Soundarya died by suicide after hanging herself. She was the daughter of former CM Yediyurappa’s elder daughter Padma.
3. Karnataka Home Minister Araga Dyanendra stated that she had been suffering from post-pregnancy depression. She has a four-month-old baby.
4. Soundarya’s body had been taken to Bowring Hospital in Bengaluru but the doctor declared her brought dead.
5. The police have registered a case stating ‘unnatural death’ since she allegedly died by suicide.
6. According to reports, the domestic help knocked on Soundarya's door when she came to clean the house in the morning but Soundarya didn't respond so the help called her husband.
7. Soundarya's husband opened the bedroom door and found her hanging from the ceiling.
8. The Police have been trying to find a suicide note possibly left behind by the deceased but couldn't find one and the reason behind the suspected suicide remains unknown.
9. The case is being investigated under High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru.
10. As per BJP sources, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and other BJP ministers visited Yediyurappa's house to pay their consolation to the deceased family.
11. Yediyurappa's granddaughter was a practising doctor at Bowring Hospital and married Dr Neeraj, a radiologist, who works at MS Ramaiah Hospital, in 2019. She pursued her Masters Degree in Surgery from Ramaiah College, Bengaluru.
