Practising doctor and granddaughter of former Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa was found dead on January 27, Thursday. Dr Soundarya's body was found in her Bengaluru apartment. Reportedly, her last rite was supposed to take place on January 28 at a farmhouse, in the outskirts of Bengaluru, owned by her husband Dr Neeraj.
According to reports, it is a suspected suicide. She was allegedly found by her husband hanging from the ceiling. The police are looking for a suicide note possibly left by the deceased woman but have not been able to find any. Soundarya was survived by her husband and a nine-month-old child.
She is the daughter of Padmavati, who is BS Yediyurappa's eldest daughter. The 30-year-old was a practising doctor and her husband is a radiologist at MS Ramaiah Hospital. No statement has been made by the family members yet and the police are uncertain about the cause of her death. Reportedly, a case has been filed under "unnatural death."

- According to the police, Dr Neeraj left home in a private apartment at Vasanth Nagar in Bengaluru at 8:30 AM and at 9:30 AM, a member of the domestic staff knocked at her bedroom door but there was no reply.
- The baby was in another room with the nanny.
- Assuming that she is asleep, the staffer knocked at her door again at 9:45 AM.
- When there was no reply, they peeped through the window of the bedroom and based on what they saw, called Dr Neeraj. Although earlier it was reported that her husband found her first.
- He rushed back home and took her to a nearby hospital and she was later taken to Bowring Hospital.
- There she was declared dead at 12 noon and the funeral was reportedly held at 6:30 PM.

- The news agency ANI reported, Dr Satish, who is the Head Of Department (HOD) of the forensic department at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital said, "We have conducted the post-mortem examination, and we will hand over the report."

- Reportedly, the couple were staying at Yediyurappa's house since her delivery. It was on the same day of her death that they had returned back to their home.
