In the city of Chieti, Italy, a British mother Michele Faiers has been fatally stabbed in her residence. Police have initiated a search for Faiers' spouse, who allegedly absconded using the family vehicle, a white Jeep Compass.

As reported by The Sun, Police promptly responded to the distress call from the location in the Verratti district, where they came upon the lifeless body of the 66-year-old, which was surrounded by a pool of blood.

The chief prosecutor of Lanciano, Mirvana Di Serio, along with forensic investigators, also made their way to the scene.

The discovery of Faiers' body occurred when a concerned friend, growing increasingly uneasy about the lack of communication from her, decided to visit her residence. The woman had not been responsive to phone calls, prompting the friend to check on her at her home, situated approximately six miles from the town centre.

Neighbours contacted the authorities upon hearing the woman's cries. Upon arrival, the officers found Faiers on the bedroom floor, surrounded by a pool of blood, with multiple stab wounds in her back.

Colonel Alceo Greco, representing Italy's Carabinieri police force, has identified Faiers's husband as the primary suspect in the case. An investigation into the murder is now underway.
