Ditched At Airport: Woman Takes Away Fiancé's Luggage and Cash Before Rome Wedding

Bride leaves fiance at airport and takes off with all of his luggage and cash amount equal to Rs. 4.8 lakh in London. The couple was at the airport to board a flight to Rome for their wedding after getting engaged when the incident happened.

Runaway brides are no news to the world and there are many cases of unusual incidents happening on wedding days that either completely ruin it or add a special memory to the day. From bride and groom falling, groom running away from wedding on a bike, switching of grooms to lovers interrupting weddings, bride marrying a baraati and much more, weddings are definitely unpredictable. Just like this groom who would never have thought that his fiance would abandon him a day after saying yes.

Bride Leaves Fiance At Airport

The incident happened at the Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom where a couple was about to board a flight to Italy and were waiting at Terminal 5. Both, the man and the woman, were in their forties and had started dating. A day earlier, the man proposed to the woman and she agreed to it and the couple decided to have their wedding in Italy. The man went to the washroom leaving his wife-to-be and luggage and when he returned, he could neither find the woman nor the luggage.

The bride-to-be allegedly abandoned him and left with his luggage. She also took the cash, which was 5,000 pounds (approximately Rs. 4.8 lakhs) which her fiance gave her as engagement gift. The man was astonished and informed the police about the missing fiance and luggage. The police is reportedly carrying out the investigation to find out whether the bride actually ran away with the belongings or boarded a flight from the airport or if there is some other angle to the story.

The man apparently had no idea of something like this to happen. An observer also acted as the witness of the case and reportedly said, "He'd proposed a day earlier, and she'd accepted. They’d planned to marry in Rome and were about to fly there. Then she did a runner while he went to the loo and vanished with all their belongings".
