Botad Gangrape: A 20-year-old medical aspirant was allegedly gangraped by three men in the Botad district of Gujarat. The three men confined her in the farmhouse, of one of the accused, for 18 days and allegedly continued to gangrape her. The incident reportedly took place between December 9 to December 26. The accused person further threatened to kill her parents and sister if the survivor disclosed the incident to anyone.
The survivor is a medical aspirant, who cleared her class twelve with good marks and pursues the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) in Rajkot. Her home is in a village in Botad district. She frequently visited the place. Recently, when she got back, she came in contact with one of the accused named Indrajit Khachar. Khachar allegedly took her to the farmhouse on December 9. They were accompanied by the other two accused persons and Khachar's friends Jayveer Khachar and Satyajit Khachar.
According to the police, the three accused persons and the survivor consumed alcohol there. Later, the three took turns to rape her. After that, they did not let her go and kept her in confinement for the next 18 days. The Police Sub Inspector of Ranpur Police Station, GD Kaliya told the TOI that when the girl pleaded with the accused persons to set her free, they allegedly thrashed her.

On December 26, they decided on letting the survivor go but allegedly threatened to kill her parents and sister if she disclosed the incident to anyone. They dropped her to Jasdan, where she was made to board a bus for Jamnagar. The accused persons had told her to go directly to Rajkot and not come back home.
After reaching Jamnagar, the survivor went to her relative's place. There she disclosed the incident and was taken to a state-run GG hospital on December 27. Later, while filing a First Information Report, the survivor detailed the incident to the Jamnagar B-division police station.
When asked about whether the parents tried to find the missing girl or register a report, the police said that they are investigating the case. Range IG Ashok Kumar Yadav said that a special public prosecutor for "quick conviction in the case."

Yesterday, a 39-year-old pastor was arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in a village of Sonagadh taluka of Tapi district in Gujarat. The accused person's wife has also been arrested for taking pictures and videos of the incident. The case against the couple was filed on December 28 and after a few hours, the couple were arrested.
