Shilpa Shetty Kids: The Bombay High Court on Monday said it was concerned about media reports on actor Shetty’s minor children after the arrest of her husband Raj Kundra in pornography case.
It was during a hearing of defamation suit filed by Shilpa Shetty against publications. The actor had asked for a restraint on media publishing articles and videos against her and her family members after Kundra's arrest. Her businessman husband was arrested for allegedly producing and distributing porn videos in India.
Shetty in her plea claimed that media publications are putting out "incorrect, false, malicious and defamatory" content about her family. In the July hearing of the suit, the court had said that it cannot pass a blanked gag order on the media. The court had asked for three videos on Youtube to be removed.
Abhinav Chandrachud, Shetty's lawyer told the court that many media houses have agreed to remove objectionable content about Shetty. The court on Monday directed the the list of defendants in the case be divided into two categories. One of traditional media houses and the second of of private vloggers and bloggers. The next hearing of the case is scheduled for October 1.
Justice Gautam Patel said, "Traditional media will understand rationale and competent advice. We cannot say the same about these private vloggers and bloggers." The court also raised questions on why Shetty was in a rush for the petition to be heard. Justice Patel Shetty will not get permanent injunction against media reports and the matter concerning her husband Raj Kundra is going to go on for some time.
The judge added, “I am not concerned about Shilpa Shetty…she will handle herself. I am more concerned about her minor children. Media reports on Shetty’s personal life with her children are of concern…in such matters, it is the children who are in the centre,” Justice Patel said.
