The Marathi and Bollywood actor Abhilasha Patil passed away on Tuesday due to complications caused by Covid-19. Directors and actors shared condolences for the family.
From Good Newwz to Chhichhore in the Hindi film industry and from Aath Diwas to Bayko Deta Ka Bayko, Abhilasha Patil had played a wide variety of roles. Abhilasha was in her early 40s and was infected with COVID-19. She passed away due to complications of the same.
Abhilasha's costar Sanjay Kulkarni who shared the screen space with her on the Zee Yuva daily soap Baap Manus, shared the news of her demise with Indian Express. Kulkarni said that around six he got a call from his Baap Manus costar, Jyoti Patil, informing him that Abhilasha Patil is not keeping well. He learnt that Abhilasha Patil had gone to Benaras where she got the fever. Patil tested positive for coronavirus on her return to Mumbai.
After Kulkarni came to know about this he tried calling Patil. But both her numbers were switched off. In the evening, another costar of the same show, Anand Prabhu informed Sanjay Kulkarni of the demise of Patil. Kulkarni said in his statement, "This has been so shocking because she had so much to achieve in life. She had plans. Abhilasha was kind-hearted and such a hardworking artiste. It’s a huge loss to the industry."
Actor-director Shashank Udapurkar who worked with Patil in Prawaas shared a post on Facebook and wrote in the caption, "Abhilasha Patil, very hard working and energetic co-artist. We worked together in PRAWAAS. Don’t have words to express. RIP Abhilasha Ji (sic)."
Abhilasha Patil was seen in many ventures like Good Newwz, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Malaal, Pipsi, Prawaas, Tujha Majha Arrange Marriage and more.
