Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) health committee clarified on Thursday that actor Alia Bhatt did not violate the COVID-19 quarantine rules as was reported earlier.
As per reports, the health committee chairperson Rajul Patel had said that they have directed the local municipal officers to look into the matter and to take necessary actions the action. The recent reports have highlighted that the cases of COVID-19 are again on the rise in Mumbai. Many celebrities such as Shanaya Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Seema Khan, Maheep Kapoor and others have tested positive for the virus. All of them, including Alia Bhatt, had attended a dinner gathering at director Karan Johar's house.

The BMC has been able to track down many of their close contacts and indirect contacts and have tested them. House of Seema Khan and Kareena Kapoor were sealed by the BMC and camps were set up their buildings for COVID-19 testing.
Karan Johar recently released a statement and denied the reports calling his house a 'COVID-10 hotspot'. The director said that he had invited only eight people to his house for dinner and it was not a party as stated in many reports. All his family members had tested negative, he said. The director had called his friends to celebrate the 20 year milestone of his film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.

BMC Allegations Against Alia Bhatt:
According to reports, Malaika Arora and Alia Bhatt were also tested and their reports came negative. The BMC officials had reportedly said that even though Alia Bhatt had tested negative, she had been told to quarantine at her home for 14 days but she travelled to Delhi and then came back to Mumbai after that. The officials had contacted Bhatt's manager when she was in Delhi and had told her to quarantine in Delhi but she came back to Mumbai on Wednesday. She had in the national capital for the promotion of her upcoming film Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor. However as per recent reports, the BMC has said that the actor was tested negative so did not have to follow the quarantine rules so she did not violate them after all. They also refuted earlier reports doing rounds on social media.
