She also accused Rafat Jahan, alias Meena, the mother of Nizami, of harassment. The woman claimed that on June 27 over the same matter, she had been severely battered, leaving her with major wounds.

After the incident on June 27, according to Fatima, she submitted a police report. The police looked into the complaint, and now an FIR has been filed as a result of their investigation.

Fatima, who is receiving treatment at the local hospital, also charged that political pressure prevented the police from taking appropriate action against her husband. She urged the higher officials to take action against the incompetent staff.

The accusations have been explicitly refuted by Nizami. According to Chauhan, the investigation's findings will be used to determine the proper course of action in court.
