A Class 9 girl from Bihar has alleged that she was raped by 18 people, including the principal, 2 teachers and 15 schoolmates, over the period of the last eighteen months. The incident reportedly took place in a school in Parsagarh village of Saran district, about 35 km from the district police headquarters in Chapra. The 13-year-old said that she did not report the incident earlier as she was scared of the way the society and the people around her would react.
What does the FIR say?
According to the FIR, the girl was first gang-raped by three of her classmates in the school lavatory in December 2017 reported HT. They filmed a video of the entire act and threatened to share it with others if she reported the matter. However, a few days later they circulated the video among their friends. The video then reached others too, and was used by the accused to blackmail her for sex.

Police superintendent Har Kishore Rai revealed that the girl had approached the principal for intervention. But he told her to be silent as it will ultimately bring a bad name to her and the school's image. Rai also said that the principal did not stop there and one day he called her in his chamber after school and raped her.

Police Action
The girl filed a complaint on Friday, after reaching out to police superintendent Har Kishore Rai. The police soon arrested the principal, Mukund Singh, a teacher Balaji and two school students. Rai said, “The poor girl apprehending stigma and the video going viral in public went on succumbing to the carnal desires of other boys and two teachers in possession of the video.”
The police are investigating and searching for the other accused. Meanwhile the girl was sent to a local hospital for a medical check-up.
“The victim has named in all 18 persons as her perpetrators in the FIR registered with the women’s police station. We have formed a team led by Chapra Sadar DSP to probe the case and arrest all the culprits,” Rai added.
Crimes against women in Bihar is witnessing an all-time high with about 127 minors and women being raped in just the first three months of 2018.
