Bihar has become the epicentre of a nefarious job scam that preys on the vulnerabilities of individuals seeking employment. The Bihar police have arrested eight individuals involved in a reprehensible racket operating under the pseudonym "All India Pregnant Job Service." This clandestine operation came to light in Nawada, Bihar, where men were allegedly enticed with a tempting offer of Rs 13 lakh for impregnating women facing difficulties conceiving.
Operating covertly through WhatsApp and various social media platforms, the accused lured unsuspecting men with the prospect of substantial financial gains in exchange for their "services." This illicit operation has raised serious concerns about the depths to which cyber syndicates can go to exploit unsuspecting victims.
The Deceptive Modus Operandi
The initial step involved a seemingly innocent registration process, requiring a fee of Rs 799. Once enlisted, the gang presented the men with a selection of photographs, tasking them to choose a woman they wished to impregnate. The perpetrators demanded a security deposit ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000, contingent on the perceived attractiveness of the chosen woman. The men were enticed with the promise of a staggering Rs 13 lakh upon the successful conception of the chosen woman. Even in failure, a consolation prize of Rs 5 lakh was assured, manipulating the aspirations of vulnerable individuals.
The Investigation
The arrest of eight individuals in Nawada, Bihar, marks a significant breakthrough in the case. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) diligently conducted a raid, leading to the confiscation of mobile phones and a printer from the premises. Revelations indicate that the operation was not confined to a local scale; instead, it unfolded as a countrywide cyber syndicate. The pursuit to trace the remaining accused, including the alleged mastermind, is underway, revealing the extensive reach of this cyber syndicate operating on a national scale.
The "All India Pregnant Job Service" is not merely a localized crime but a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities that exist in our society, waiting to be exploited.
