In Bihar A 20-Year-Old Woman Burnt Alive By Three Men For Resisting Harassment: Report

In a horrifying incident, a 20-year-old woman was allegedly burnt alive by three men for resisting harassment. The incident took place 15 days ago in a village that comes under Chandpura OP police station of the Vaishali district in Bihar. The accused men allegedly splashed kerosene oil on her and then burnt her alive. The relatives of the survivor admitted her to the PMCH hospital, however, unfortunately, the girl succumbed to her injuries after 15 days of treatment, reported ABP live.

The incident has left the entire village shocked. According to the relatives of the girl, a man named Satish Yadav is the main culprit. Yadav reportedly teased the survivor often, the girl one day complained about his behaviour to his family members, he then caught the survivor along with two other people, reportedly harassed her and then burnt her alive when she resisted the act.

• Till today, which is 15 days after the incident, the police have reportedly not arrested anyone. 

The police reportedly knew about the brutal incident immediately, they went to the hospital to record her statement but didn't file an FIR. Four days after the incident when the video of the girl’s statement went viral, the police hastily filed an FIR. Till date reportedly no arrests have been made.

14 days after the police registered an FIR in concern with the incident, an arrest has finally been made. One of the suspects Chandar Kumar has been arrested by the police after investigation. Vaishali SP Maneesh who recorded the girl’s statement told TOI, “ The girl alleged that Chandan, his father Vijay Kumar and Chandan’s cousin Satish Kumar poured kerosene and burned her when she resisted their molestation bid. She also alleged that they used to molest her in the past too.”
