Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar has shared a new poster from her upcoming film, Durgamati The Myth. The film was earlier titled as Durgavati. Directed by G Ashok, it is a remake of the Telugu film Bhaagamathie by the same director. The reason for change of the name has not been shared yet. The film is set to release on Amazon Prime on December 11, 2020.
Pednekar shared the poster of the film on Twitter and wrote, “Durgamati is coming.” In the poster the actor can be seen in an intense look.

Akshay Kumar too shared the poster with the announcement on his Instagram page and wrote, "Are you ready?. Meet DurgamatiOnPrime on Dec 11.”

About the film
The film stars Pednekar in the lead role while Kumar is one of the producers of Durgamati along with Vikram Malhotra, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar. Pednekar will be seen in the role of an IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer in Durgamati reported Hindustan Times.
Announcing the release date, in October, Pednekar wrote on Instagram, "What’s behind that door? You will know soon, Durgavati releasing worldwide,11th December 2020 on primevideoin." Earlier, Pednekar also shared a video from the sets of Durgamati in January on Instagram.

Earlier in an interview with PTI, Pednekar had said, "The film is going to take me in horror space. It is the most challenging and special film for me, as it is for the first time, the responsibility will be on my shoulders. It is something I'm most pressured and excited about. Akshay sir is a genius, I respect him."
Pednekar made her debut with Dum Laga Ke Haisha in 2015 opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. Recently, Pednekar opened up on her process of choosing films and said, “My film should entertain, but at the same time it does seek to leave the audience with a thought that will hopefully change their thinking for the better” reported The New Indian Express.
Pednekar further added, "Every film has a certain set of audience and, for me, a film has to entertain its core audience. If it fails to do so, then it doesn't achieve its purpose.”
