To create awareness about the serious dangers involved in riding without a helmet, an all-women scooter rally was organised in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. The women were celebrating the 32nd National Road Safety Month and various events, including bike rally, female two-wheeler rider rally, meetings on road safety, etc.
"By wearing a helmet, severe accidents and on the spot deaths can be avoided," said a woman constable about following traffic rules, ANI reported. She said that it is important for riders to understand the risks of riding without a helmet.

"Women have come in large numbers for the bike rally. Our agenda today is to propagate the idea of pillion rider wearing a helmet," Sagarika Nath, DCP Traffic, told ANI. "We request maximum people to be aware of the changes in the law," she added saying that women from different parts of the city came together in the front and spread the word.
A group of more women riders on Monday aimed at making those non-helmet users aware of the most significant rule while the city's Traffic Wing of Commissionerate Police launched a traffic awareness campaign using FM radio stations. The National Road Safety Month will be celebrated between January 18 and February 17, according to The New Indian Express.
In 2019, a similar initiative flagged off when an all-women bike rally was held in Bhubaneswar to spread the important message of traffic violation and safety. Traffic DCP had said, "The aim is propagate the idea of pillion rider wearing helmets and if there is a triple riding, the child should also be wearing a helmet."
