Bhopal: Woman Allegedly Assaulted By Husband For Not Agreeing To Wife-Swap

In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly assaulted by her husband for not being part of a 'wife swap' game. The incident occurred at a hotel room in Bikaner, Rajasthan and the case was registered in Bhopal. As per reports, the complainant's husband was a manager in a 5-star hotel in Bikaner.

In her FIR, the victim said that her husband pressured her to engage in a wife-swapping game and have physical relations with his friends. When she refused, he beat her and abused her sexually, forcing her into unnatural sex.

Woman allegedly assaulted for refusing to participate in wife-swapping

The woman alleged that she was called ‘stupid’ and ‘uncultured’ when she turned down her husband Ammar’s proposal. She also accused him of being a drug addict and alcoholic and having physical relationships with girls and boys.

According to the police complaint, the woman said, "Ammar (husband) locked her in the hotel room and snatched her phone. After two days in Bikaner, Ammar returned to her in an inebriated state. Drinking alcohol, taking drugs, having physical relations with different girls, and even having sex with boys was normal for him."

Her husband had asked her to be part of the wife swap game. "When I refused to be a part of the game, he assaulted me, called me uncultured, and had unnatural sex with me," said the complainant.

The complainant also stressed that she sustained severe injuries during this but did not agree to be part of that game.

As per the police in Bhopal, the woman came to her parents’ place two months back and registered a complaint with her mother's help.

As per the police complaint, she also highlighted that both her mother-in-law and her sister-in-law along with her husband demanded a dowry of ₹ 50 lakhs. She also informed that her in-laws' never paid heed to her complaints and rather blamed her for being "modern." Since the time of filing of the complaint, Ammar is absconding.

"A case was registered against the accused husband and her mother-in-law and her sister-in-law under section 377, 498a, 323, 506, 34, 3/4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act," said Woman police station in-charge, Anjana Dhurve.

Further investigations into the matter are underway.
