Mumbai Police Arrests Fake Drug Officers For Abetment Of Young Actor's Suicide

Bhojpuri actor suicide in Mumbai: Two men Sooraj Pardeshi and Praveen Valimwe have been taken into custody for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 28-year-old actor who was found dead on Thursday in her rented Mumbai apartment. She  was allegedly being blackmailed by two men who posed as anti-drugs officers. The identity of the actor is not known yet.

It was on December 20 that the Bhojpuri actor went to a party at a five-star hotel with her friends. That's when two-three men barged in claiming to be officers of the Narcotics Control Bureau, They said they were there to conduct a raid. The two men reportedly told the actor that there was a drug bust at the venue adding that they would not name her in the FIR and keep mum if she paid them ₹20 lakh.

"Harassed by constant calls from the two, the actor hanged herself from the ceiling fan of her residence on Thursday," the police said. The two men have been charged with abetment to suicide, cheating and intimidation, informed the police.

According to the police, no link can be established between the accused and the anti-drugs agency. However, they are searching for Arif Qazi. He is the actor's acquaintance. According to the police, he was involved with the two men and their plan to cheat the actor.

Another shocking case from Assam where 13-year-old girl died by suicide after alleged harassment by the principal over a love affair. The accused person, the principal, is missing and the police have launched a search. A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against her. The girl was a class eight student at a Guwahati school who jumped off from the fifth floor of the school after being insulted in front of the boy's parents. She was taken to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Read more about the case here.
