The mittens worn by Bernie Sander at Biden-Harris inauguration are out of sale, the Vermont School teacher who made them. The named Jen Ellis shared on Twitter that she is flattered that Bernie Sander wore those mittens to the inauguration and that she is flooded with requests for the same but she said, "Sadly, I have no more mittens for sale."
Bernie Sanders's picture from the inauguration day went viral on the internet. As many admired his normcore style, his multicoloured cosy-looking mittens were widely talked about.
Those mittens are actually called 'smittens' a combination of sweater and mittens. Ellis had hand made them a few years ago and had given to Bernie Sanders to wear but she had little idea that Sanders would them to the inauguration ceremony. Ellis said that the mittens are made of repurposed wool and are lined fleece made of recycled plastic bottles.
The image of Bernie Sanders sitting on a chair is being widely shared on social media and has turned into a meme fest. Many people including celebrities are sharing the images photoshopped inside their own pictures. Many His picture has been photoshopped into popular television series' scenes, important moments in history and anything and everything.
While speaking to Jewish Insider, Ellis said, "there's no possible way I could make 6,000 pairs of mittens, and every time I go into my email, another several hundred people have emailed me."
"I hate to disappoint people, but the mittens, they're one of a kind and they're unique and, sometimes in this world, you just can't get everything you want," she added.
