Bengaluru Woman Kills Mother, Surrenders To Cops With Body In Suitcase

In yet another shocking incident in Bengaluru, a 39-year-old woman killed her mother, stuffed her body in a trolley suitcase, took it to the police station, and surrendered herself.

The woman was identified as Sonal Sen, a physiotherapist hailing from West Bengal. She walked into the Mico Layout area’s police station around 1 pm yesterday and confessed to killing her mother because of regular conflicts with her over trivial issues.

The police found a framed picture of the murdered woman’s husband inside the suitcase along with the dead body. The deceased woman was identified as 71-year-old Biva Pal. The body was found inside the suitcase with a dupatta around her neck.

Voluntarily surrendering herself to the Bengaluru city police, the woman confessed that she killed her mother by overdosing her with sleeping pills and strangulating her with a dupatta. She claimed that she committed the crime due to constant arguments with her mother.

The accused woman’s husband, an engineer who also lived in the same house, was not present at home during the time of the murder. The accused’s mother-in-law, who also resided there, wasn’t aware of the incident as the murder took place inside the room. They had all been living together in the Jigani Industrial Area of the city for the past five years.

In other news, a 24-year-old woman was arrested in Mumbai for killing her mother and cutting her body into pieces at their house in Lalbaug in March 2023. The police stated that the daughter, Rimple Jain, had been staying with her mother’s body for over two months until the incident came to light. The deceased woman was identified as Veena Prakash Jain, 55.

The incident came to light when Veena’s nieces went to visit her, and Rimple didn’t open the door. When they inquired with the neighbours, they learned that no one had seen Veena in over two months. Veena’s niece informed her mother and aunt. Everyone went over and forced their way inside the house. Rimple tried to lie to them and say that her mother was in Kanpur.

However, the relatives took her to the police station. Following a complaint filed by the relatives, the police began an investigation and found Veena’s dismembered body parts inside the house. The police said that a lot of verbal arguments between the mother and daughter were reported. Rimple claimed that Veena had fallen off a building, and she was afraid that she would be blamed, so she decided to chop off her body parts.
