Schools Receive Bomb Threat
More than 68 unrelated schools were targetted on early Friday morning during class hours, leaving the students, staff, and parents of pupils panicked. The first wave of threats hit seven schools, including Neev School, Klay, and Vidyashilp Institute in Basaveshwar Nagar. One of these schools is right opposite the Deputy Chief Minister's residence. Shortly afterwards, several more schools received the horrifying emails. Bomb Disposal Squads and police dogs were immediately deployed for search.
Neev School sent a message to the parents stating, “We are encountering an unexpected situation at school today. The school has received a security threat from unknown sources. As we hold the safety of our children at utmost priority, we have decided to disperse the students immediately... Kids are being sent home as per the advice of the bomb squad. We are evaluating the threat but for safety, kids go home."
D K Shivakumar told the media, "I was watching TV, the school opposite to my house also got a threat mail. I came here to check...Till now it seems like a threat call. But we have to be very cautious about it... Cybercrime police are active, they are doing their job... We should also be cautious and should not neglect."
