Wholesome: Bengaluru Woman Helps Auto Driver With Daughter's Exam Prep

In a viral X (Twitter) thread, a Bengaluru woman shared a wholesome interaction she had with an auto driver, where she helped him plan for his daughter's entrance exams.

A Bengaluru woman took to X (Twitter) to share a wholesome interaction she recently had with an auto driver in the city. Namrata S Rao, whose post has now gone viral, recounted how a mid-traffic conversation turned into her helping the man prepare for his daughter's entrance exam. Calling it a "cute Bengaluru moment," she shared that the duo spoke about his Class 11 daughter's aspirations to appear for the CET and NEET examinations.

When Rao asked the driver if he often engages in such conversations, he replied "Illa (No) madam, we understand people, we get vibes too. I could feel you were a genuine person to ask about this, that's why," she wrote.

'Cute #Bengaluru Moment'

Rao, an architect by profession, and an auto driver started the conversation in a quintessential Bengaluru summer, 2024, fashion over the scorching heat. "Isn't it really hot outside?" she asked him.

The conversation then delved into his daughter's entrance exams. Rao said that she gave him some tips on preparing for his 11th-grade daughter's CET, NEET, and other crucial exams. 

Rao further wrote that when she asked the driver if he often engages in such insightful conversations, he replied saying he got a certain 'vibe' from her. She added, "I agree with him, sometimes it’s all about the vibes."

The driver said, "I could feel you were a genuine person to ask about this. Else, the passenger just wears earphones & I be staring at the road, just like any other day," Rao wrote.

The viral post has garnered a lot of love from Bengaluru folk. One user wrote, "These days, auto drivers are plugged with their earphones and passengers with theirs. The genuine conversation between the two is totally missing."

Another added, "It must be so difficult to drive the entire day in traffic. I have an issue with auto drivers due to their attitude. However, they are working so hard for their family." 

One X user remarked, "Nice way to start a conversation in #Bengaluru now with anyone - ‘Tumba seke allwa?’ (Isn't it really hot?" while another added, "Many of our auto guys are decent everyday people, may their tribe grow."
