MP Locket Chatterjee: BJP Member of Parliament Locket Chatterjee from Hooghly said that the Trinamool Congress-led West Bengal government is fooling citizens of Bengal.
She criticised that the Bengal government is claiming credit for the schemes originally launched by the Centre.
Locket Chatterjee made these remarks while speaking in the Lok Sabha. The Assembly elections of the state are to happen in a few months. The MP alleged that central schemes were renamed by the Trinamool Congress for electoral benefits. She added that the Congress government renamed the health schemes as well as schemes aimed at helping out the farmers of Bengal.
"The Trinamool Congress has also stopped the implementation of Centre’s schemes because they cannot ensure the steady flow of 'cut money' from these schemes," she further added.
Chatterjee criticised the Trinamool Congress MPs for not tending to the demands of farmers in West Bengal. But they are ready to reach the Ghazipur border in order to address the woes of farmers. She added that the farmers in West Bengal are demanding the implementation of Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.
However, Trinamool Congress politicians are spreading misinformation about the schemes formulated by the Centre, the BJP MP said. Locket Chatterjee further said that the recent farm laws passed by the central government are aimed at benefiting the farmers.
The fight before Assembly elections
As the state Assembly elections are due in a few months, the main contenders are BJP and Trinamool Congress in the state. While Congress is hoping to continue their governance in the state, BJP is desperately looking to win in the upcoming electoral battle.
The Mamata Banerjee led government in West Bengal are being attacked continuously ahead of the state assembly elections. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the chief minister has not implemented projects which would ensure growth and development of Bengal.
He claimed that the state government has been lacking to implement the Centre’s health and agricultural schemes in West Bengal.
While addressing a BJP rally in Haldia, Modi said, "Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, over 10 crore small farmers have received ₹1.15 lakh crore in their accounts. But farmers of Bengal could not because the state did not implement it. Now that the farmers have made up their mind to teach Mamata Didi a lesson, the state government has grudgingly agreed to join the scheme."
